Markets Ho!

The CCFA has a new website and a new blog just in time for a new market season.  The above picture was taken on April 12, 2009 at CCFA member, Erin Oliver’s greenhouse in Nathrop, CO.  This week she is beginning to pick vine ripened red tomatoes.  This is just one of the wonderful local products you can expect at this years Salida Farmers Market.

The Salida Farmers Market will be in Alpine park again this year.  The application to the city is on the upcoming City Council Agenda for Tuesday, May 19.  The organizing is getting easier and easier each year.  But still, we have been working hard for a few months now getting everything in line.  We have big plans this year to add some excitement and community connection to the market.  A new prepared food vendor court alongside the new music tent, monthly events like the Salida Circus and Rivertribe performances and a grand kick-off on FIBARK weekend are the highlights.

Many of the vendors from last year are already signed up with some new ones, too.  There is still room for just about all types of products, so if you are interested in being a vendor please contact Seth Roberts at market@ccfa.coop.
